Our Story

Empowering the modern Indian woman with timeless apparel, while keeping the heart of India's heritage craftsmanship beating.

Ellor was born out of a simple realization: the modern Indian woman moves between worlds. She is rooted in her heritage yet forward-looking, seeking apparel that reflects both her identity and her active, modern lifestyle. We found that while traditional clothing was beautiful, it often lacked the versatility, functionality, and comfort required for a busy day. Conversely, modern western clothing often felt detached from the rich textile heritage of India.

We set out to bridge this gap. Our journey began in local artisan hubs and weaving clusters across West Bengal, collaborating directly with weavers to create lightweight, breathable, and beautifully structured fabrics. We fell in love with the textures of hand-spun cotton, the drape of linen-slub, and the organic elegance of traditional weaving patterns.

By marrying these heritage textiles with modern, minimalist silhouettes—such as relaxed-fit kurtas, versatile co-ord sets, and functional dresses—we created a new language of Indian fashion. A language that stands for effortless style, breathable comfort, and timeless elegance.

The Artisan Connection

Every thread of Ellor carries a story of human connection. By practicing ethical sourcing and direct partnerships, we ensure that our artisan partners receive fair wages, safe working conditions, and a sustainable source of income. When you wear an Ellor piece, you are not just wearing a garment; you are wearing the handwork, pride, and heritage of an Indian artisan.
